Lets hack the brain!

In a matter of a few years, the way humans interact with computers has evolved from simply using a mouse and keyboard to advanced BCI technology that might have been unimaginable a decade ago. From robotic limbs to mind-controlled flying drones, Brain-Computer Interfacing is poised to become an integral part of the technological landscape.

There will only be one time in history when direct brain-to-machine interfacing becomes a commonplace consumer product. Because this technology is so powerful, we want its development to be driven by human values and a long-term vision for cognitive evolution -- not only short-term market forces.

The mission of BCIHackathon is to incubate novel ideas for using BCI technology to improve human learning and creativity.

Event Info

  • Two-day BCI Hackathon

  • OpenBCI boards provided

Goals

  • Promote and teach hacking

  • Bring together students from a different disciplines that are interested in brain-computer interfacing

  • Conceptualize, design, prototype, and build tools/applications that explore future implications of interfacing the brain

  • Document and publish all work in order to drive forward the DIY brain- interfacing community

  • Initiate an ongoing discussion around the future of brain interfaces, spawning future similar events
